New AI models launch every week, and most people default to whatever they opened first. I'm not going to list all of them here, that gets old fast in an inbox. Instead, this one's personal: my own history with these tools, and exactly what I run day to day and why.

My story with these tools
I didn't start on Claude. Like almost everyone, I started on ChatGPT, back when it was the only serious option. It got me through the early days of figuring out what AI meant for a business built on human creative work, back when I was still running Great Dane.
I moved over to Claude when the writing and the reasoning started feeling steadier. Less flashy, more useful for actual client work. That's still where most of my day lives.
But I never fully left ChatGPT behind, and lately I'm back running both properly, on purpose. ChatGPT still wins on some things, especially anything visual. Gemini earns its spot too, whenever a client hands me a meeting recording instead of a brief. I stopped being loyal to one company a while ago.
Point is: the tool matters less than knowing exactly which job it's for.
The short version, before the stack
I think about models in three tiers: flagship for when a job is hard, workhorse for what I use most days, light for anything running at volume in the background. Below is where each tier shows up in my own work.

What's in my stack
Not the tools I think sound impressive. The ones I'd be stuck without, across Visible Agency, VendoPlus, and this brand.

💬 Daily driver
Claude Sonnet 5
This is where most of my day runs. ClickUp tasks, client bot prompts, VendoPlus notes, the draft of this exact email. I don't need it to impress me, I need it to be right and fast, and that's how it feels most days.

🧠 Hard problems
Claude Fable 5 and Opus 5
I only reach for Fable when getting it wrong costs something, the model behind Nodel, my AI governance tool, or a proposal built to survive an objection. Opus is backup when Fable is busy.

🎨 Front-end builds
ChatGPT (GPT-5.6 Soul)
My pick when a VendoPlus build needs the front end to look designed, not only functional. I let it own the interface, then hand the logic back to Claude. This is the honest reason I never fully switched away from OpenAI.

📹 Meeting review
Gemini (3.1 Pro)
This is my pick when a client sends a recording instead of a written brief. It watches the whole meeting and pulls out the decisions and next steps before I touch anything. Nothing else in my stack can do that yet.

🖼️ Image
ChatGPT Image (GPT Image 2)
Where most of the early AI Solopreneur thumbnails came from, before I moved the brand to its own illustration style. Still my first stop for a quick, rough visual.

🎬 Video
Seedance
I picked this over the flashier options because it's the only one I've tested that doesn't fight me when I mix different kinds of source material in one clip, a product shot next to a logo next to a bit of text. That flexibility matters more to me than raw video quality, since most of what I make for TikTok is short and needs to hit fast.

🎤 Voice
ElevenLabs
This one earned its spot the hard way. Every character voice on my kids podcast, Say What?!, runs through it, and so does every voice agent I've built for a client. It's the only one where a client on a call can't tell they're talking to a bot in the first ten seconds, and that first ten seconds is where most cheap voice bots lose trust.

🎵 Music
Suno
I played music from the age of 15. Then I watched AI start to take the music business apart, so I closed mine and moved my attention to helping companies use AI instead. The odd part: the same technology that ended one thing handed part of it back. Suno lets me get a musical idea out of my head in minutes, faster than the old way ever let me. It runs the whole Say What?! soundtrack.

🎤 Give it a listen
Say What?!
The kids podcast running on ElevenLabs and Suno end to end, character voices and soundtrack, all of it.

Why this matters even if you never touch these tools
You do not need to know what Claude Fable or Seedance are for this to apply to your business. Most vendors pitching you AI right now are selling a tool, not a job. They tell you what the software does, not what problem it solves for a business like yours. That is backward. Start with the job, whether that is answering the phone faster, following up with a lead before you forget, or getting a Saturday's admin done in an hour instead of four. Then find the tool built for that job, not the one you happened to open first.
✅ Free • 30 minutes • no pitch deck
If you are picking AI tools by whichever one you opened first, then it is worth 30 minutes to pick on purpose instead.
We will map out which tool fits which job in your business, so the guessing stops.
